PARCC Information

On the Delran Township Schools website, there is information posted for parents. Recently, a PARCC Parent Letter with a FAQ section was added. This information is located under the Parent tab labeled as PARCC Information.

There will be an informational night for parents about the PARCC test on Monday, February 23rd at 6:30pm in the DIS gym. The purpose of this meeting is to provide you with information about the new state testing. We will discuss the testing schedule, topics covered, background information, test navigation, and answer any of your questions or concerns.

PARCC Schedule at DIS

Over the past few months, we have worked to develop a schedule for the PARCC that is fair and equitable for our students, which minimizes disruptions to the school day. Numerous staff members and parents have offered input.  We appreciate the time and thought everyone put into this process on behalf of our students.

We have decided to assign each grade level a week for testing. Each class will be assigned to a testing block, which begins at either 8:30 or 10:30 for the March assessment. In May, students will test in the opposite block. Students will complete one testing section each day. The length of the test sessions vary between 60-90 minutes, depending on the content and grade level. Students will be participating in normal learning activities during the remainder of the day. The grade that is being tested will have the last lunch period.
  • 5th Grade- March 2nd-6th
  • 4th Grade- March 9th-13th
  • 3rd Grade- March 16th-20th

In the upcoming weeks, you will receive additional information that is specific to your student.

5th Grade Parents- Immunizations

The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services requires all students entering the sixth grade to receive one booster dose of the Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine and one dose of the meningococcal vaccine. Compliance is mandatory before the start of the school year in September. Your child may be excluded from school if these immunization requirements are not met. Please note there are age restrictions on the meningococcal vaccine, if your healthcare provider indicates these restrictions apply to your child please notify your school nurse so provisional status may be granted.

If these vaccinations have already been administered, please send documentation from your healthcare provider to your child’s school nurse. If they have not, we strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider NOW to be ready for next fall. Once the immunizations have been completed, submit the documentation from your healthcare provider to your child’s school nurse.
